Incorporating Google Calendars and Twitter Feeds
This past week, I got the opportunity to attend a short 30 minutes technology workshop in which I learned more about the widgets available on Weebly. Our instructor taught us that widgets are things that we can add to our classroom website. She went over two that we could use: Google calenders and a Twitter feed.
I can see myself using a Google calender on my classroom website so that parents students and administrators and easily see any upcoming events. I do not think that this widget would be able to help my students learn any specific content.
I can see myself using a Twitter feed on my classroom site to post things about current events. I would use Twitter in an attempt to motivate students to be excited about social studies. I think that students social studies content knowledge could be improved by checking Twitter and reading about current events more often. The students could also learn about evaluating primary and secondary sources
